Munson Healthcare to automate business side of the houseMunson Healthcare is poised to streamline and automate its administrative processes, human resources and payroll functions with new technology.
The not-for-profit regional network will deploy a software suite developed by St. Paul, Minn.-based Lawson Software. Munson Healthcare has a medical staff approaching 500 and is affiliated with eight hospitals in northern Michigan, including Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort. The regional health system includes an air and ground medical transport service and a home health agency.
The system serves the nearly 600,000 residents of Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula and the eastern portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
"Lawson's easy-to-use employee and manager self-service tools were a key factor in our decision," said Sue Peters, vice president of human resources for Munson Healthcare. She said the new technology would help the healthcare system streamline workforce management processes and make making it easier for existing staff to manage their benefits online.
Lawson has 500 healthcare industry customers representing more than 4,500 facilities, including eight of the top 10 integrated delivery networks, according to Lawson executives.
"Hospitals need proven, healthcare-specific business systems that are simple to install, use and maintain," said Nam Vo, vice president of global healthcare strategy for Lawson."Through our technology leadership, we help healthcare providers simplify workforce management processes so HR managers can focus on strategic recruiting and retention efforts." |
