The American Health Information Management Association is hosting a two-day conference to discuss legal matters surrounding electronic health records.
Doctors, nurses, lawyers and health information technology experts will talk about privacy, security and meaningful use of EHRs during the 2009 Legal EHR Summit, Aug. 17 and 18 in Chicago. Presenters will offer information about how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 potentially impacts legal EHRs, and will talk about patient health information ownership, data management and how to protect data from theft.
George Paul, a partner with Lewis and Roca and co-chairman of the American Bar Association's Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence Committee, is expected to deliver a keynote address on Aug. 17 to talk about the future of digital information and how it applies to health records. |
