1. There are so many companies jump on this area in the last 2 or 3 years. But lots of them complain about the difficulities they met when they approach their potencial customers to sell their product. Usually they complain: A. cometition is too high B every project is too small in terms of money. so there's not so many money to make.
On the other hand, I heard from several hospitals' CIOs that they can not find what they want to match their needs.
In my opinion, both sides are right and have valid concerns. In my company, we sell our clinical management software to a 200 bed hospital for usually $35million. Our development team is composed of designers with doctor's background and certified nurses with IT background. The clinical documentation team is around 100 members.
I am not sure what kind of development levels we have right now in you guys'compay. My point is that we really created something which the doctors and nurses want in their daily work to assist them and make their job enjoyable.
2. 标准化,I heared this word from lots of people, from companies from private sector, or from 卫生部信息中心。We tried so hard to standardize the so-called sub module of HIS, such as nurse workstation, doctor workstation, ... In my opinion, these are really not necessary. The partition of HIS like these really prevent poople from making creative thinking. This is really common sense, in this early stage of HIS development, we should really encourage creation rather than puting in so-called standards.
We have HL7, what else do we need?
3. As to the clinical documentation system, I have watched several demos of the clinDoc subsystem from several successful companies. My impression is that we really just focused on recreating paper documentation on computer.Without focusing on workflow, noway it will be accepted by doctors and nurses.
Okay, i really want to hear your opinions.
thanks! |
