HIMSS Statement of Support: Health IT Solution’s presented Dr. David Brailer
HIMSS shares Dr. David Brailer’s sense of urgency, expressed during his keynote at the 2005 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, for finding solutions to overcome the many cultural and economic barriers to implementation of health IT solutions. Dr. Brailer identified three areas slowing the rate of adoption:
1) Disparities in adoption rates in healthcare markets and delivery organizations,
2) Proprietary-public domain, and
3) Privacy and information control
His initial solutions, EHR adoption, interoperability, and streamlining federal health information systems consistently align with collaborative industry efforts currently underway, including Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), successfully displayed in the Cross-Enterprise and Ambulatory Care Showcases at our exhibition this week.
HIMSS is honored that Dr. Brailer chose HIMSS 2005 to unveil his priorities. We will continue to engage our members and colleagues to positively impact the quality of healthcare delivery. |
