呵呵，各方人士汇聚中国医疗咨询业，看来这个概念快炒热起来了。不知道HIMSS是盈利性的还是非营利性的机构？CHITA好像是非营利性的学术机构。

<p>Hi Jing!&nbsp; You are observant and very right.</p><ul><li>Greater China Region SIG is now near 90% formalized:</li><ul><li>All formal applications are approved (eg. Group name, mission statment, goals, measurable objectives/commitments, initial list of 25 HIMSS paying members).</li><li>Last step now - the HIMSS Board will meet 8/12 (?) and vote on approving this group.&nbsp; The Director of Membership Benefits (among many people) all told me there are "no red flags"&nbsp; ^_^ (in relations to China culture ... this may be a unexpectedly funny analogy.&nbsp; ha!)</li></ul><li>The Greater China Region 大中華地區 SIG, has already been SUPER active:</li><ul><li>Made a presentation in the mid-July semi-annual conference call of all SIG (there are 18 currently, we will be 19th) leaders.</li><li>GCR SIG has already begun working with:&nbsp; Offshort Opportunity SIG and IHE SIG to jointly collaborate on possible projects, such as helping to bring 1 -3 paying exhibitors into the HIMSS 2006 "Interoperability Pavilion" to show Chinese capability of major HIS (e.g. language ability, traditional medicine codeset, HL7 in China, payment structure in China).</li><li>In HIMSS's weekly announcement to all paying members (the "e-News"), The Greater China Region SIG has been announced 3 times already.&nbsp; ^_^</li><li>We also sent out "welcome email" to all those 25 initial members already.&nbsp; It is VERY exciting to see the coverage (large US firms, small consultancies) and depth (VP of sales, VP of corporate strategy, company owners, researchers) of the "founding members" line up!&nbsp; ^_^</li></ul></ul><p>So - here is my estimated timeframe - as soon as the HIMSS Board gives its formal blessing, I will IMMEDIATELY call a first meeting, to get everyone acquainted, and to establish things like - expectations, meeting logistics, team building, common goals / objectives, taking names of volunteers, etc.&nbsp; If you are already a paying member of HIMSS, it is not too late to join this initial Core group -- I highly urge you (this is to everyone on this BBS), for your own long term benefits!&nbsp; ^_^</p><p>I will obviously announce that "initial conference call" here online.&nbsp; Note that it may have to be a conference phone bridge and not yet an VOIP conference&nbsp; >_<</p><p>Stay in touch ...
